Tootsie and Toffee On The Night Before Christmas - By Giselle

It was the night before christmas, little tootsie and toffee were curious about what presents mum and dad got for them.

so Tootsie and Toffee sneak out of there room and head down stairs

Tootsie: “shhhhh you're going to get us caught with you stomping your big feet”.

Toffee:“no you're going to get us caught with your big big mouth”.

Tootsie and toffee take a pause so they give the poker face to each other.

Tootsie and Toffee were flustered that they made it past mum and dads room and down stairs without getting caught.

Tootsie and Toffee both say silently: “we did it yay”

BUT SUDDENLY Tootsie and Toffee heard a noise, out of fright Tootsie and Toffee accidentally topple over the christmas tree, getting themselves intertwined by the christmas lights.

Tootsie and Toffee were on the floor tied up by the lights yet they still didn't know what the noise was. But right before their eyes they see a silhouette of a familiar shape..

Tootsie and Toffee both say: “it's SANTA” (with a not so silent tone).

Santa walks up to the kids and says Merry Christmas as he puts tape over their mouths to shut them up.

But everything goes to blur as tootsie and Toffee were just dreaming.

Helping Kidneys ( Kidney Diagram ) - By Giselle

Kidneys are two bean-shaped organs that are located on either side of the spine near the bottom of the rib cage. Kidneys help by keeping the body’s systems in balance, cleaning the blood by removing the unwanted material through urine and also helping to make sure the blood has the right amount of salt, water and acid.

Zara Rutherford Flying Adventure Route - By Giselle

My task is to create a realistic route for Zara Rutherford, so she can complete her goal to fly around the globe.

She is supposed to stop at 52 countries and cross the equator at Colombia and Indonesia, plus she has to zig zag across 52 countries so she can keep away from the water if able too. I have best wishes for Zara and I hope she completes her goal become titled as the youngest pilot to fly around the world.

Are Maggots Useless or Helpful/ Maggot Diagram - By Giselle

My Class and I read an article about A 17 year old girl who finds herself in a rain forest after surviving a 10,000 feet fall from a disintegrating plane. Once the girl found civilization, after 11 days of walking and surviving, she realized her wounded arm was infested with maggots so thats when the topic of "are maggots helpful or useless" was brought up.

I have researched about it and saw some pretty disturbing photos but found out maggots are helpful. Once you put a maggot into your wound they each your rotting flesh and leave you with healthy flesh, its called maggot therapy. Also if you were interested in maggots take a look at my maggot life cycle.

Maggot Life Cycle Time Span:

How Long does the fly live for - 28 days

How Long do the eggs take to hatch - 24 hours

How long does the larva - 10 - 14 days

How long does pupa turn into a fly - Three - Six days

Diary Entry ( Christians Suffers ) - By Giselle

 Dear Diary....

I was in my class presenting a piece of work I had done, not able to finish my sentence. A bomb went off, the explosion consuming a third of the classroom. Children were running as they scream in fear, I was able to escape. I was running towards the exit as a tear had fled from my eye but the look of surprise has not uncommon upon my face, as this well known bombing happens...constantly.

I run and run, as houses collapse, guns go off and bombed cars erupt. I make my way back home, the looks of happiness and the tears of relief appear on my family's faces when they see me safe and clean of pain. I sit down in the corner of the house writing in my diary. It helps me to stay calm as I know their is horror outside of these walls.

A Yellow Umbrella - By Giselle

                A Yellow Umbrella

A flood of mixed emotions has come upon me. I gave him my umbrella, no words came out of my mouth just a friendly smile, though in my head that's not what I'm feeling. What a terrible person am I, I came in to this attic thinking I would just get my umbrella and get out taking my bad intentions with me, instead I learnt a valuable lesson on being grateful. I apologized to him with a stuttering voice, I expected no forgiveness, his heart was so pure, humble, kind and loving. My eyes glistened and sparkled when I heard him say... "I Forgive You."

A Sailing Experience - By Giselle

                                  A Sailing Experience

May 10th 2021 was the day we got to experience the wonders of sailing. Straight off the bat I would like to thank St. Johns Rotary and Yachting New Zealand for their sponsorship that made this day happen.

Arriving at our destination and stepping out of the bus we were instantly greeted by one of the instructors. He walked us to the assigned place where we were to assemble our boats. A tricky challenge but it was fun.

Straight after assembling our boats, we ate and got changed into our swimmers. We were provided a warm jacket as well as life jacket for our session.  They were comfortable and did the job they were made for.

We departed from shore and sailed into the deeper water.  Putting my hand in the water i felt it clash with current. Asinate (my partner) and I  always laughed at all the mess ups we had, especially round 2 in the water. I pushed our boat off shore and we attempted to get in but we failed when our boat tipped over.  We were laughing because it was so funny and we were enjoying ourselves. After sailing the boat around we headed back to shore and once again our boat tipped over.

Finally, once we got to the shore, we got changed and returned the jacket and life jacket. We said our final goodbye and Thank you to the instructors. Returning to school, in my head, I was telling myself what a wonderful experience the day had been.

Diary Entry - By Giselle

This is a diary entry I have written in response  to a short animated movie we are studying for literature.

                                                Sadness

Dear Diary...

I close my eyes, scared to open them as my tears may gush out like a waterfall. I hear the tires bumping on the rocky road, suddenly the noise goes silent. The car stops, the escort opens the car door, at that moment the rain starts to erupt. I step out of the car releasing a tear as it can be disguised with the pouring rain. I raise my head to see a building appear in front of me. I was given a yellow umbrella for coverage, which I received as a present from my mother. She is no longer here. I amble towards the door when suddenly a strike of a unfortunate events happen to me, my yellow umbrella strays away from my hands and is swept away to the sky, I look away approaching the door with no smile..no happiness, just sadness.

My Value - By Giselle

                                 My Value

Today we discussed our values. We had to dig deep and think hard about what really counts. I chose  "home" as something I value because my home is the place where I have celebrations, where I eat, where I sleep and where my family is beside me. We created our value in clay so we could think about values more and what it means to us personally.

Stations Of The Cross - By Giselle

                      Stations Of The Cross

On Thursday April the 1st, my class and I acted for Stations of the Cross, which is showcases family and friends watching Jesus making his way to sacrifice, for our sins we have committed. We wanted to show real expression and empathy towards our characters so the younger students of our school would understand a piece of Jesus' life.

I played the role of Mary, She was a mother who witnessed the loss of her son and I had to show that with deep facial expression, we couldn't talk because their are two narrators who will be leading us to each station (There was 14 stations).

We had five practises and 1 dress rehearsal, there was a few mess ups, giggles, laughs, out of facial expression moments but all came good at the day of the reenactment.

I say we did a mighty fine job reenacting this moment in Jesus life. I'm Very happy I got this opportunity to play the role of Mary, I'm also happy for my classmates for their roles they got to play.

Thank you Jesus for all you have done for us.
