Butterfly In the Night - By Giselle

When I was in my backyard I found flowers, twigs, leaves and sticks and with that I made a butterfly under a beautiful tree in the night sky.

It has orange leaves for wings, a black twig for its body and curled up orange leaves for its antennas. Behind my insect there is a tree made from a twig with light pink faded petals and blended orange leaves on it. On the top right corner there is a a flower to represent the moon and lastly I added tiny water droplets to act like stars. I call it ''Butterfly In The Night".

Marc Chagall - By Giselle

                         Marc Chagall

Marc Chagall was born on the 7th of July 1887 in Liozna, Belarus and was a brother to eight siblings.  He died on March 28, 1985 after collapsing in his house in Saint Paul de Vence France at the age of 97

Marc Chagall is known for his beautiful art, which included Paintings, Pottery and Stained Glass. He even came up with his own quotes. Marc Chagall had two wives one name is Valentina Brodsky the other one's name is Bella Rosenfeld. Marc Chagall also had two kids, his son named David McNeil and is daughter named Ida Chagall who sadly died of cancer at the age of 78.

Marc Chagall would use two or three colors and he would professionally blend it to create a magnificent painting. I chose these two images because the first one called "I And The Village" has beautiful colours and the other one called "Le cirque bleu" has a beautiful colourful mermaid and colourful fish.

Kate Sheppard Woman's Rights - By Giselle

Kate Sheppard was born on the 10th of March 1847 in New Zealand. Kate Sheppard had a passion of woman's rights, so in the late 1800 she protested and fought for woman to be able to vote in elections. She did this by writing letters to the news paper, running public meetings, talking to politicians and making petitions.

By all her doing, women in New Zealand were able to vote in 1893 and New Zealand was the first country to allow woman to vote. Also for Kate Sheppard's good deed she was printed on the NZ 10 dollar note.

Kate Sheppard's Might and strength will never be forgotten.

One Step Closer... - By Giselle

                                            One Step Closer...

Alma breathing heavily, her eyes moving side to side making a sound “clunk” “clunk”. Alma stops breathing to think about what has happened then a voice of innocence and despair says “what's done is done it’s over.” Alma screams “WHO ARE YOU!!!” As loud as she can but all she can hear is the slight soft voice coming from her mouth. Once again the innocent voice comes back “ I'm right next to you.”  Alma with all her might tries to move her head  “a- a doll “ Alma stutters “ you’re a doll? “ And you are too, says the doll.

”I’m Felice Alcott.” says the doll.  Alma says, “you are the young girl who went missing a month ago... aren't you?“ Falice says, “ yes... yes I am. A month ago I was walking back home, I saw a black board with names on it. I was tempted and wrote my name on there too. But then I heard a noise, it sounded like a squeaky door. I turned around and there was a doll with milky brown hair like me and  had a black dress with pearls on it, just like mine, I was intrigued but … I wasn't willing so I left...Alma says “then why are you here... HOW ARE YOU A DOLL?”

Felice says '' Let me finish. I left the store but then... the door opened and A- A woman came out she had cracks in her face. I tried to run but She grabbed and pulled me back into her shop, forcing me to touch the doll and I….did, next thing I know I'm on a shelf.  Alma said “ do you know who this woman is?”  “Yes, yes I do” said Felice. She goes by the name of Malvada Muñeca. It’s Spanish for evil doll. In 1865 she was hit by a car at the age of 23. Her father Ambrose, did not bear to see her die so he  did all he could to bring her back. His wife Adelaide had had enough of his behavior and she begged him to stop. She said  “its over, she's gone, she's NEVER..EVER.. COMING BACK! Ambrose was furious he stormed out slamming the door behind him … BAM.“ Ambrose packed his bags to get away from Adelaide when suddenly something dropped onto his bed, a doll.

That day Ambrose traveled to the south woods with his daughter in his arms  to find the man called Alatar, he's a sorcerer. Ambrose explained what had happened to his daughter. Alatar put a curse on the child, He said “ she will survive. But she will have to steal souls and youth from children to survive.” Ambrose loved his daughter so he agreed Malvada was brought back to life and her father taught her great evil .

Alma asked “how do you know all of this?” “ I've been here for a month. I know all the history of what happened.  Malvada knows what she has done…..”

“OKAY, NO MORE!” Alma said.  “ What do you mean” asked Felice. “We have to escape” Alma replied. ”How, HOW in the world are we going to leave this place” asks Felice with a feeling of helplessness. Alma stutters “break ourselves.” Alma continues  “BREAK THE DOLLS, we have to try to land on the floor so we can break and maybe we will restore to our normal selves. ''

“ WHAT IF WE DIE”  Felice asks. Alma responded “what do we have to lose or would you rather spend an eternity  standing on a shelf knowing what could have been done” Felice finally agrees. Moving slowly Alma and Felice finally make it to the edge of  the shelf. Looking scared but still confident Felice and Alma lean forward and topple over shattering onto the ground, their souls evaporate out of each doll and slowly reform back into their human bodies.

A woman came in from the storage room, immediately Felice recognized who it was. Felice, softly whispers to Alma saying “its her.. .the Monster...The most horrible human being living on earth..It- it’s Malvada Muñeca.”  So much anger and rage was on  Malvadas face when she saw the girls and the shattered pieces  she was furious. Moving backwards out of fright Alma bumped into a doll, it fell onto the floor and broke. Another person was set free. Malvadas said “that's not going to work for every doll, naturally in real world it's a circle of life you’re born, you live your life, you have a kid, then you DIE but not when you’re a doll. If you break a doll that’s has been here for more than one year they will die, want me to prove it?  ”Alma screamed NO!”

Alma notices a match on the floor; she quickly lights it up by scratching it  on the wooden floor “screee.” Before Malvada could notice. Alma threw the match at Malvada.

As she burned cracks appeared on Malvadas face. Malvada saw a flash of a vision of her past...who her mother and father were but most of all….who she was before she was possessed by evil. There was acceptance on Malvada’s face as she burned into ashes.

Quickly Alma and Felice put out the fire, after an hour of looking they found a file of the dates when the dolls were brought to the store Alma and Felice freed all the early comers but had to leave the children who had been taken earlier behind. Leaving the store Alma noticed a doll who looked familiar and had an amulet just like her. Alma took out a picture of her sister who went missing  6 years ago when Alma was 5…”It's my sister Avangiline” she thought. Alma wanted to set her free but she knew if she broke the doll Avangiline would die. Allma sat down next to here sister and thought of all their good memories. Finally Alma left the store saying “Happy 20th Birthday Avangiline....you will never be forgotten.”

After all the commotion Alma and Felice reported  to the police all the paranormal happenings within the shop. Luckily they had 90 kids who could back them up. The doll shop was closed down and was turned into a shrine for people to put pictures of their lost loved ones.

Later, Alma and Felice were called heroes of Spain and the gratitude was never forgotten. The children went back to their families and Alma and Felice started a magical friendship that lasted forever.

THE END…………..

The Longest Walk - By Giselle

Chris,Jodine, johnny and Elizabeth, The Rapsey family are going on a long walk. They are following a route called Te Araroa, Which means the long pathway, longest track in the country. This family is not like other family walkers, some people walk maybe a mile or more but this family walked three thousand kilometres. The family started at the top of Poukirikiri.  Most nights they camp in there tents sometimes they stay in tramping huts or houses. They went from Cape Reinga to Bluff. This Trip took them 3 months and don't forget they walk Three Thousand Kilometres.

Personally I would love to do this, I love how this family has so much energy and I honestly believe they love to follow and complete their Goals, Which Is really Amazing.

Aroha's Unique Way

 Unique

In a world where I live, perfection is all it is

Beautiful white smiles, no hair looking wild

All boys slick hair and games

All girls dressing the same

Everyone being perfect and pleasant

but no one is

being who they are and different

but

I stand up and try to be different

put uniqueness in peoples

hearts

but just one look

the protest starts

A world against one

I close my eyes and give up

that one heart is now done

she becomes the same just like all

a perfect world with no one appalled

walking home her smile dropped, her heart broken down and popped

she rips the bows off her hair, wipes off the make up with her tears

looking at the mirror she sees the girl she once was

her heart had that little warm fuzz

the next morning

she wore what she wants she didn't dress the same

  like a type of font

Once again its a world against one

she looks at all and says

you don't have to be perfect and the same

the world looks at me with so much shame

but Aroha knows

she doesn't need a tweak she's perfect the way she is and

she is

UNIQUE

Red Zone Christchurch-By Giselle.

In the 2010 to 2011, many areas in Christchurch were harmfully affected by, soil liquefaction caused by an earthquake. Once the earthquake ended, that area became a red zone meaning it was land that cant be built on. People only got a couple minutes to grab their belongings, obviously they did not get much. People must have lost family pictures, clothes, cars and their homes. If I would have lived in that area I would have been terrified.

Mophead - By Giselle

Mophead

Today my class and I did a creative diary entry piece for Selina Tusitala.

Diary Entry:

I n
ever told them I was getting bullied, I didn't want them to be in my college drama. I saw the look in my parents eyes, It looked like they were thinking I was getting an award. The principal came in looking at Giselle with anger, he sits down , explains what Giselle has been doing to me. My parents look at me with a face I didn't know explain but all I know they were sad.

I was in a Restorative justice meeting with the bully Giselle and her parents, and mine. I felt like throwing up not just because i'm in the same room as the bully, because my parents are here!!.

Coming home they talked to me " why didn't you tell us", My mum said. With no reply I walked up the stairs to go to my room my parents said " we love you for who you are and who you want to be. Slowly I came down the stairs and I ran to them and gave them a giant hug.

The Child Hero - By Giselle

Arriving at the hospital, a child on a gurney seeing lights flicker, gurney wheels squeaking, hearing his family crying heavily then suddenly, very slowly everything goes dark.

The child's eyes open to see he's in a room with nobody to be seen, Everything was so quiet all he could hear was beeps from a heart monitor. A person walks in the room, thinking it was the child's mother he has a smile on his face but his smile drops as soon as he realizes it is the doctor ready to stitch him up.

The doctor injects an anesthetic in the boys intravenous, The child's eyes shut and he goes back to that dark universe he once was in.

The boys eyes open to see his mother and sister beside him. The child's sister hugs him and his mother hugs him too. The boys sister taps his arm and says "I love you, you are my hero."

My Interesting house - By Giselle

This house is special because it has horrifying lightning, two volcanoes on each side and dark colours everywhere. If I did live here I would be happy, sure people would call me weird but at least I would have a roof over my head.

In my eyes this house is cool. Other people might think it's weird but it's not what other people think its about what you think. Don't let anybody bring you down and if they do I know you can get back up again.

My Life Poem - By Giselle

My Letter - By Giselle

Dear Asinada

I hope you are having a good time in Nigeria, I heard there is a lot of bombing happening were you are and I just wanted to send this letter so I can tell you whats happening in our village.

There are two green children that have arrived. People are starting to isolate themselves because we don't know what those creatures could do to our families. You won't guess who's fault it is... old woman Jackson! She found the kids in a dark cave in the deepest ends of the woods. She's currently keeping the kids in her house, what a nut case. I say they should be burned to death along with old woman Jackson. Who knows what else she could bring to our village next.

Anyways stay safe, see you in a couple of months.

Sincerely,

Franny Bobinstein

Guilt Station - by Giselle

                           Guilt Station

I feel dirt on my legs, the hard floor is giving me a sore back, as I wished for my soft bed at home.

Looking around I see thieves looking through other people bags, trying to steal their food. I want to stop them but they are adults and I'm only a kid. I fell asleep with guilt knowing I could have tried to stop them.

My Memory - By Giselle

                                                          My Memory

I Remember walking into a room filled with balloons and party decorations for my birthday the decorations were beautiful but something really caught my eye, a sweet, creamy chocolate cake with icing dripping from the top. My family was singing the joyful happy birthday song to me. Once everyone said hip hip hooray "I blew out the candles" with all my might and my family cheered... YAY!.

My Mum gave me a giant slice of cake " she said wait until your siblings get a piece of cake before you eat yours. I was so tempted, I just wanted to eat mine. Finally, my mum finished cutting slices of cake for my siblings. I took a giant spoon full of cake an ate it. It was just so creamy it melted in my mouth.

My Dad gave me a present, I ripped open the wrapping paper with so much force. It was a giant photo book it looked really old and vintage. I opened the book and saw pictures of my dads parents. The photo book was really special to me because I never got to meet my grandparents because my grandma died when my dad was ten and grandpa died of lung cancer.

I really loved my birthday and the photo book I got really taught me to love and cherish my parents because someday they won't be there in my life any more.
